Newcastle United are trying to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi and it’s looking increasingly more positive for the Toon.
Guehi has emerged as a key target for Newcastle over the past week or so and it’s suggested the Magpies are ramping up their pursuit.
So far, Crystal Palace have held firm and rejected bids from Newcastle.
However, PIF and Newcastle are not being deterred and are going again for Guehi in the hope of convincing Palace to do business.
And according to Fabrizio Romano, things are moving in the right direction for Newcastle.

As we know, an opening bid for Guehi from Newcastle has been rejected.
But according to Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle are now growing in confidence when it comes to doing a deal for Guehi.
to share an update on the situation, Romano has said that negotiations are underway again and there’s a confidence from the Magpies.
Guehi and Botman could be brilliant for Newcastle
Newcastle have done well to progress under Eddie Howe but there was always a feeling some big name signings would be needed to take things to the next level.
The signing of Guehi is a nod in that direction for the Mags.
Landing one of England’s most in-demand defenders and someone who pretty much cemented themselves as a starter for the Three Lions in the summer, is a big coup.
The likes of Liverpool and Tottenham have looked at Guehi in great detail and it will be a nod to the project under Eddie Howe if Guehi does sign.
Seemingly, it looks like Newcastle feel a deal can be done here. Guehi himself has ok’d the deal as well, according to reports.
That means a potential pairing of Sven Botman and Marc Guehi in the Premier League and in all honesty, there aren’t going to be many better partnerships.
