Fabrizio Romano has just posted tweet about Darwin Nunez this morning

Perhaps not the news Liverpool fans expected this morning, but Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on striker Darwin Nunez.

Nunez was once again in excellent form for Jurgen Klopp’s side yesterday, scoring Liverpool’s second goal in the win over Norwich City.

Much like he was against Fulham on Wednesday, the Uruguayan striker was full of energy, enthusiasm and guile.

Perhaps the days of Nunez being a source of frustration are now being left behind, the striker seems to have turned a corner.

Some may think the absence of Mohamed Salah has demanded this step up from Nunez, a challenge he’s risen to.

And all that being said, has now shared an update for Liverpool fans about Nunez on X.

Fans can rest assured, it’s not a breaking story about the striker leaving in the coming days – that would probably shock on a similar scale to Klopp’s announcement last week.

But Romano did share what he’s been hearing about the Liverpool striker behind the scenes, explaining how the club’s staff have seen his recent change.

Taking to X, Romano explained: “Liverpool are very happy with Darwin Nunez as he’s the first Premier League player this season to reach 10+ goals and assists in all competitions.

“Liverpool believing his development has been excellent, very happy with improvement and attitude.”

Of course, many Liverpool fans will feel exactly the same.

Although he’s frustrated those watching on in the past, he’s never lost the faith and support of the Anfield faithful.

There really is something about Nunez’s game which is incredibly encapsulating, even on his bad days.

But those are now becoming much less frequent, and the striker is now proving that he has what it takes to be a success under the manager to follow Klopp, too.

If there’s ever an indication of how far we’ve come, Liverpool fans would surely have been absolutely gutted if Romano’s update was about a Nunez departure.

However, it’s thankfully not.
