Fabrizio Romano has heard £20m Liverpool player has been so impressive in training under Arne Slot
The Arne Slot era is underway at Liverpool, and this is a fresh chance for a number of the Reds’ players to show what they are made of.
Indeed, a number of Liverpool’s fringe players appeared to fall to the wayside under Jurgen Klopp, but now, the likes of Fabio Carvalho have a chance to impress under a fresh regime.
Sepp van den Berg is one player who has a chance to change perceptions.
The Dutch defender has scarcely had a chance to play for Liverpool.
The Reds are said to be open to selling Van den Berg for £20m this summer, but according to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on Men in Blazers, the centre-back is actually performing very well in pre-season.

Sepp Van den Berg is training very well
Romano shared what he knows about the defender.
“It is important to say that a lot will depend on outgoings. For example, Sepp van den Berg is doing very well in pre-season, so Liverpool will make a decision about him in the next days. They rejected an offer from PSV Eindhoven last week, that was €10m plus add-ons,” Romano said.
Van den Berg could have a chance
Sepp van den Berg’s Liverpool career appeared to be over under Jurgen Klopp, but maybe he has a chance to make an impact this season.
If any manager is going to give this young man a chance it’s his fellow countryman, Arne Slot, and if he’s doing well in training, that should be rewarded with some first-team opportunities.
Liverpool are said to be in the market for a new centre-back this summer, but perhaps they could save themselves a lot of money and a lot of time by giving Van den Berg an opportunity.
Don’t be shocked if the defender ends up getting a chance at Anfield this season.
