Fabrizio Romano drops Desire Doue update amid Tottenham, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Manchester United and Newcastle links
Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Manchester United and Newcastle United are just some of the Premier League clubs that have been linked with Desire Doue this summer.
Spurs have been heavily linked with the Rennes ace in recent days, while TBR Football sources revealed in May that Arsenal, Villa, Man United and Newcastle are also on the case.
All five teams have scope to strengthen their respective squads, with some clubs having been busier than others in the market.
Tottenham have one signing on board in Archie Gray, while Arsenal are yet to get off the mark in terms of senior acquisitions, though Riccardo Calafiori is seemingly close to joining.
Villa have brought eight new players in at B6, while Man United have made two high-profile acquisitions and Newcastle have four new names through the door.
Doue, one of the brightest talents in Ligue 1, looks set to depart Rennes this summer and join one of Europe’s giants.
At this moment in time, it looks like two clubs are ahead in the race, both of them on the continent as opposed to the Premier League.
Fabrizio Romano has now shared a fresh update on the state of play involving the 19-year-old attacker’s future.

Desire Doue decision to follow ‘very soon’ after Olympic game
The transfer insider, writing on X, says Paris Saint-Germain have now submitted a proposal, which matches Rennes’ price tag, namely €60million (£50million) plus add-ons.
previously relayed a report claiming Bayern had submitted a €55million (£46million) bid for Doue.
According to Romano, Doue is focusing on his upcoming Olympic football game – France v United States – on Wednesday evening, “but his decision will follow very soon”.
Now or never for Premier League clubs to make Doue move
Doue is one of the most highly rated young talents in Europe and, as such, he would be a real statement signing for any club.
However, the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal, Villa, Manchester United and Newcastle seem to be running out of time to make a move.
It won’t be long until Doue makes his decision, so if the above teams are to try and muscle in, it’s very much now or never.
