Firpo, 24, is set to leave Barcelona after playing just 41 times in two seasons with the Spanish giants since his move from Real Betis. A fee is believed to be in the region of £13.5million plus add-ons. It sees the Whites solve their left-back problem area, with Gjanni Alioski’s contract expiring last week.

Romano has been on the ball in regards to Firpo. Now, the widely-trusted Italian claims that everything has been agreed, completed and signed. Only medicals for Firpo remains, with prior reports claiming that the Dominican Republic ace has already travelled to Leeds to thrash out a deal.

Firpo is a statement of intent from Leeds hierarchy, amid Romano claim

Having finished in ninth place and only a few inches behind qualification for the Europa Conference League, Leeds will be looking to build on that. While remaining in that position in the league would still be growth, the next stage is European qualification. Signing Firpo is brilliant business.

Young, European quality, and with massive resale value – Leeds are getting themselves a player worth far more than the fee supposedly being paid. A real coup for many reasons.
