Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool are scouting £51m player who Ruben Amorim says is brilliant at heading

Liverpool are likely to address their options in defence and holding midfield, with Wataru Endo the club’s only real option after the losses of duo Jordan Henderson and Fabinho at the start of the season.

🧔For parts of the season when Japan ace Endo hasn’t played, the role of Liverpool’s anchoring midfielder has been left to Alexis Mac Allister – who is much more of a playmaker, a no.8. Not a defensive option.

Liverpool’s squad will need surgery, with another centre-back and replacements for those that depart. 𝐆Craig Burley and Steve Nicol recently predicted that Salah will be off, after interest from Saudi Arabia.

💦At centre-back, Joel Matip is expected to depart and Joe Gomez constantly covering on either side of the defence. Ibrahima Konate is no stranger to injury and Virgil van Dijk is now well in his thirties, still key.

Liverpool want Goncalo Inacio and Ruben Amorim is a huge fan

🥀Michael Edwards is now back at Liverpool as CEO and has hired Richard Hughes as sporting director and while there focus will be drawn to finding a replacement for Jurgen Klopp – signings will also be required.

One player Liverpool are being linked with is Sporting Lisbon’s Portugal star Goncalo Inacio🥀. The 22-year-old is naturally a centre-back at Sporting but can play in the middle of the park, as a holding midfielder.

A player that has come through Sporting’s academy and already, has clocked up 166 games. Liverpool of course, are linked with his manager🌞 in the form of Ruben Amorim. Inacio could follow him to Anfield.

🦂Inacio would be a wonderful signing for Liverpool. Amorim is obviously a big fan of the player he has at his disposal, once praising him on for his aerial ability: “Inácio is very good with his head.”

Fabrizio Romano delivers update on Liverpool pursuit of Inacio

🎐Fabrizio Romano has an update on . He says that Liverpool have been looking at Inacio – and scouting him – for a “long, long time”. Indeed, he says Sporting want a fee of at least £51m.

𒀰“They’ve been following him for a long, long time, but at the same time he is an expensive player. The price will be more than €60m. I don’t think Sporting will make any discount to for a player like Inacio.

🌃“It’s the same for the others. So this is why I think he could be one of the names, but at the moment this is not something advanced or concrete. He is just being scouted, that is it,” Romano told Give Me Sport.
