Fabrizio Romano comments on the future of two Italian stars linked with Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur and Fabio Paratici have been linked with a whole host of Italian stars, two of which include Lorenzo Insigne and Andrea Belotti. The Euro 2020 champions are in the final year of their contracts at Napoli and Torino.

Insigne, 30, has enjoyed a stellar 12 months. Having a hand in 30 goals for Napoli during 2020-21, before netting twice as Italy won Euro 2020. Belotti, meanwhile, scored 13 and created seven in 2020-21 – but played second fiddle to Ciro Immobile at Euro 2020. Still, he made six appearances.

say that Tottenham and Barcelona are in talks to sign Insigne. While, back in April,  that Tottenham want Belotti. Now, Romano has commented on both – claiming that a new deal at Torino and Napoli is “not advanced” and that they could depart.

“Belotti and Insigne are out of contract in one year,” . “Negotiations over a new contract with Torino and Napoli are not advanced yet. They were waiting for the Euros. We will see what happens, keep an eye on Belotti and Insigne.”

Tottenham could really do with both Belotti and Insigne, amid Romano claims

Tottenham have seemingly lost Gareth Bale who is likely to return to Real Madrid and play out the final year of his deal under Carlo Ancelotti. Harry Kane could go, but Carlos Vinicius has already left and returned to Benfica. So, Tottenham need replacements for Bale and Vinicius.

Insigne is a brilliant signing, proving as much at the Euros just what he can do, curling a delicious effort into the net against Belgium. Belotti is a leader, a powerhouse and a goalscorer. He is loyal, much like an Italian version of Kane. If Kane goes, he would be a top signing. But would he be back-up?
