Fabrizio Romano claims Europa League winners have just made formal bid to sign ‘world-class’ Tottenham target

Tottenham Hotspur could face stern competition for a midfield target should they firm up their interest in the player.

Despite the recent arrivals of talented midfielder prospects Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, Ange Postecoglou🐓 remains keen on bolstering his options in the middle of the park.

ꦅA move for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher is expected to be made over the coming weeks while Spurs’ interest in Jacob Ramsey could be one to keep an eye on.

🌟Tottenham also look set to offload the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Giovani Lo Celso, with both players failing to establish themselves as starters under Postecoglou last season.

ꦛHowever, Spurs may be put on alert by Atalanta after the Serie A outfit have sent a formal bid to sign a player who’s been linked with a switch to north London.

Atalanta launch bid to sign Tottenham target

After a memorable Europa Leagueꦚ final victory over Bayer Leverkusen last season, Atalanta are keen to strengthen Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad.

𒊎The Serie A outfit are also preparing for the possible exit of key midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, who’s attracting interest from Juventus.

And as they search for reinforcements in midfield, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Celtic have received a formal offer from the Europa League champions for Tottenham target Matt O’Riley.

What Matt O’Riley has said about Ange Postecoglou amid Tottenham interest

✃O’Riley was initially snapped up by Postecoglou at Celtic back in January 2022 and he’s gone on to become a key star for the Hoops.

𝓡Last season, the Danish midfielder netted 19 times and provided 18 assists in all competitions under Brendan Rodgers.

The ‘world-class𒁃’ midfielder previously caused a stir after he appeared to take a dig at Postecoglou’s man-management style following the Aussie’s exit last summer.

♈But the 23-year-old was quick to clear things up and insisted back in July last year that he enjoyed his time under the Tottenham boss.

🥀“I don’t think I said anything bad about the previous manager! It was maybe blown out of proportion a little bit,” he of Postecoglou.

🗹“It’s just different managerial styles. It’s strange how people jump on it like they do, but that’s football, especially when it’s pre-season and we need something to talk about.

🍌“Under the previous manager I got so much better as a player. So I can’t say I didn’t like him at all because in my career he’s the one I’ve learnt most from.

🦹“I am very grateful to have been able to work with him. In terms of their styles, yeah, it’s very different. I don’t think there is any right or wrong way.

ඣ“Brendan had previous success here, but Ange showed when he was here he had major success as well and obviously got himself a really good move from it.”
