Leeds United have been linked with Hellas Verona’s Josh Doig in recent days, but it looks like the Whites have now missed out on him.
A recent report from French outlet claimed that Leeds and Rangers have been in pursuit of the 21-year-old left-back
Torino and Marseille have also been credited with an interest in Doig, and according to Fabrizio Romano, the latter club has all-but won the race.

The Whites let Djed Spence and Luke Ayling leave Elland Road this month, so there’s scope for Daniel Farke to bring in some defensive reinforcements.
Leeds were always up against it with regards to Doig’s signature, however, with Marseille making progress over the past few days over a deal worth up to £4.3million.
Leeds United target Josh Doig now Marseille-bound
On Saturday, Romano took to to claim that Marseille have agreed terms with both Verona and Doig, and it’s just a matter of the final details being sorted.
Doig is expected to make his way to Marseille in the coming days for medical tests, added the transfer insider.
Although Leeds appear to have missed out on Doig, there are other defensive players reportedly sought after by the Whites.
For instance, Ben Jacobs recently told a Leeds fan on that Chris Mepham and Connor Roberts “could both be options” for Farke in the January transfer window.
Meanwhile, reported earlier this week that Leeds are now also looking at West Ham’s Ben Johnson.
There’s still over a fortnight left in the transfer window, so the Whites have time to try and get some new defensive reinforcements.
