Fabio Vieira posts two-word reaction after Eddie Nketiah’s display in Lyon friendly yesterday

Fabio Vieira has reacted to the performance of Arsenal teammate Eddie Nketiah in the 3-0 win over Lyon last night.

It is a huge moment in time for Nketiah, given the injury suffered by Gabriel Jesus which looks set to keep him out for a number of months after surgery.

There is always the chance that Arsenal will go and sign someone in January, but they have games before the window even opens.

That hands Nketiah a chance to impress and he started in the right way, scoring after 33 minutes of the game to make it 2-0.

Vieira hails Nketiah

Vieira made it 3-0 six minutes later with the first-team regulars storming to a half-time lead, before a host of academy players saw out the win.

After the game, Nketiah took to to celebrate the win and state that he is tuning up nicely for the resumption of the Premier League season.

Vieira was among those in the replies, sending a two-word message back to the striker, underlining the camaraderie between the pair.

There will be so many calls for Arsenal to sign a striker to replace Jesus while he is injured and that should spur Nketiah on to prove the doubters wrong.

He signed a new contract with Arsenal during the summer with designs on getting more gametime to show what he can do.

Nketiah is not going to get a better opportunity than this and if he can fire in the goals to keep Arsenal in the title race, he will cement his status as a reliable option and alternative for Jesus.
