Fabio Paratici says two Tottenham players signed by Pochettino are truly ‘amazing’

Tottenham Hotspur director Fabio Paratici has waxed lyrical about Spurs defenders Eric Dier and Ben Davies.

With the international break in full swing, the Spurs chief spoke to the club website about their current state of play.

Paratici talked about Tottenham’s current form and recent signings Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur.

He also spoke about Cristian Romero, who has been superb since joining Spurs last summer.

When asked about the Argentine’s impact, Paratici deemed him “really important” for Tottenham.

However, he also sought to praise Spurs’ other defenders, and he deemed Dier and Davies “amazing”.

“(Romero) is a really important player for us,” quotes Paratici as saying.

“But I think not just him, he has a big impact but even the other defenders, they work very well at the moment.

“Eric Dier is amazing, Ben Davies the same.

“Sanchez, Tanganga and Rodon, when they played they did well.

“So we have a very good group of defenders, so we are happy.”

Dier and Davies both joined Tottenham in the summer of 2014, shortly after Mauricio Pochettino took the reins.

Davies arrived at Spurs from Swansea in July 2014 alongside Michel Vorm.

Meanwhile, Dier joined Tottenham a few weeks later in August.

Davies has competitive Spurs appearances under his belt, while Dier is on .

Both have done well under Antonio Conte and, with their contracts running until 2024, there’s much more to come from them.
