Fabio Paratici has clearly pulled off a £20m piece of genius at Tottenham Hotspur – opinion
Tottenham Hotspur transfer guru Fabio Paratici has clearly pulled off a piece of genius by bringing Rodrigo Bentancur to north London.
from Juventus back in January and made an immediate impact at Spurs.
The Uruguayan played a pivotal role in helping Antonio Conte’s side qualify for the Champions League last season.
The 25-year-old formed a brilliant partnership with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in midfield, which was one of the key foundations for Spurs’ strong finish to the last campaign.
Now, he is taking his game to another level this season and has been a standout performer in north London.

Paratici pulled off piece of genius
Paratici raided his old club in Turin to bring in Bentancur and Kulusevski back in January.
The moves were frowned upon by many Spurs fans as it seemed to be a desperate attempt to bolster the squad late on in the window.
But the pair have exceeded all expectations, with Kulusevski grabbing the headlines last season.
Now, Bentancur is playing some of the best football of his Spurs career during the current campaign.

The midfielder had fallen down the pecking order at Juve and had no experience of playing in the Premier League.
But he’s adapted to life in a new country with ease and is now adding end product to his game. The Spurs man has got on the scoresheet in the last two games against Bournemouth and Sporting Lisbon.
He’s provided two assists and scored as many goals in his last seven appearances in the Premier League.
But more importantly, Spurs look a much better outfit when he’s on the pitch. Conte decided to rest the player on Saturday ahead of a huge clash against Marseille tomorrow night.
Tottenham really struggled without his presence in midfield and they took complete control of the game after he replaced Yves Bissouma just before the hour mark.
He went on to score the winner on the south coast and further demonstrated why he’s looking undroppable for Conte right now.
At just £20 million, Bentancur is looking like a real bargain and Paratici must be praised for bringing the player to north London.
