Fabian Delph outlines how Marcel Brands convinced him to join Everton this summer
Everton summer signing Fabian Delph has paid tribute to the lengths Marcel Brands went to in order to convince him to move to Goodison Park this summer.
, £80,000-a-week () star Delph was mightily impressed by the level of detail Brands went into.
He : “I was blown away. After speaking to Marcel about the club’s plans and his ideas, I got really excited. I certainly didn’t expect a presentation. There was detail about where I would play and what I would contribute in different systems.
“Marcel explained my role at the club and how I could bring my experience to help the younger players. Marcel sold me the dream. I remember him leaving my house and saying, ‘It’s Everton’. The opportunity to come here was too much to turn down.”
