FA Cup: Fifth Round Team of the Weekend feat. Tottenham and Lincoln City stars

Goalkeeper: Paul Farman (Lincoln City)

Playing any Premier League side away from home as a lower-league player can be a daunting prospect, particularly for a goalkeeper. Paul Farman didn’t look at all fazed by the atmosphere at a packed Turf Moor, however, looking comfortable in organising his back-four and coming for crosses, as well as being reliable in making saves when called upon, particularly in thwarting Andre Gray in a frantic final few minutes as the hosts pushed for an equaliser.

Right-Back: Kieran Trippier (Tottenham Hotspur)

The former-Burnley man has seen little action this season given the imperious form of Kyle Walker, but his performance at Fulham was a demonstration as to the strength in depth Mauricio Pochettino has at his disposal. Trippier was always eager to burst forward, a constant menace for the home side, and it was his quick throw-in which helped create Harry Kane’s opening goal.

He was equally tireless in tracking back and assuming defensive responsibilities for his team, his eight tackles more than any other player.

Centre-Back: Sean Raggett (Lincoln City)

Isn’t it fitting that an Arsenal fan should net the winner that took Lincoln City through to face the Gunners in the last-eight? Raggett’s performance at Turf Moor against Burnley was just the stuff that makes the magic of the FA Cup so special.

A defensive performance up there with some of the best, he was an imposing presence at the back for the Red Imps to shut out the Burnley attack as the National League side went toe-to-toe with their Premier League opponents, and in the 89th minute he seized his big moment, fought-backensuring his header had enough power to make it over the line before 3,120 delirious Lincoln fans and carve his name into football history.

Centre-Back: Luke Waterfall (Lincoln City)

Alongside match-winner Raggett, Waterfall was another key player behind one of the FA Cup’s greatest ever upsets. He was a dominant aerial presence like his teammate, and his positioning throughout the tie was immense as he slammed the door on Burnley’s attacking duo of Andre Gray and Sam Vokes, despite the latter’s own imposing presence in the air.

He was even up in support of the attack in the build-up to Raggett’s winner, a testament to just how much Lincoln wanted this victory.

Left-Back: Shaun Cummings (Millwall)

Lions defender Shaun Cummings was fantastic against Leicester, with an alert defensive performance to slam the brakes on Demarai Gray and Ahmed Musa out wide for the Foxes.

With Millwall down to ten men, you’d have expected the full-back to sit deeper with defensive duties in mind, but not on this occasion. A marauding run into the box saw the Jamaica international latch onto Lee Gregory’s wonderful back-heel in injury-time, before shrugging off his man and calmly finishing beyond Ron-Robert Zieler to lift the roof off the Den.
