Ezri Konsa and Marvelous Nakamba buzzing over Aston Villa transfer news

Aston Villa have been especially busy on the transfer front over the past few weeks, with seven new signings over the line.

Unai Emery’s charges have a huge season ahead of them after finishing in the Premier League’s top four last term.

Aston Villa now have Champions League to look forward to and they’ll want to make a good impression, whilst also ensuring they can remain competitive domestically.

The Villans will be mindful of how Newcastle United qualified for the Champions League last year, only to struggle with the additional workload and finish seventh in the league.

Ian Maatsen, Cameron Archer, Samuel Iling-Junior, Lewis Dobbin, Enzo Barrenechea and Ross Barkley all joined the Villa ranks prior to this week.

The Villans then made it seven earlier this week as they brought Jaden Philogene back to Villa Park from Hull City just a year after selling him to the Championship club.

As per , Villa more than matched Ipswich Town’s £18million offer for the 22-year-old, as per a clause they included in the deal that saw him join the Tigers last year.

Villa deserve credit for Philogene clauses in Hull sale

Credit to Aston Villa for including the match and sell-on clauses in the deal to send Philogene to Hull.

They have made the most of these clauses to bring him back after a further 12 months of development.

Villa were in need of a new left winger after Nicolo Zaniolo’s loan spell finished at the end of the season.

Now, they’ve got his replacement in Philogene, a top talent who they know very well and vice versa.

Philogene is just 22 years old, so he’s got his whole career ahead of him, not to mention a high ceiling.

He knows the club inside out and he impressed last season, bagging 12 goals and six assists in the second tier.

Villa are also set to bring Amadou Onana to B6 from Everton, with an announcement tipped in the next few days.
