Exit-linked Xherdan Shaqiri comments after staying at Liverpool
Xherdan Shaqiri has been discussing his decision to stay at Liverpool, after the player was linked with a move away from the club.
The Switzerland international supposedly had interest from the likes of Sevilla and Lazio but the claims have been dismissed as mere speculation.
Many thought Shaqiri would depart the club this window, with competition for places in midfield and out wide having really heated up at Anfield of late.

The star has made just one EFL Cup appearance so far this season, and could be set to warm the bench until January.
But Shaqiri is confident in his decision to remain at the club. : “The media write a lot, but in the end I’m with Liverpool.
“I have a long-term contract, and I really feel good. I have decided to stay with Liverpool. In football, there is always speculation.”
TBR’s View – Shaqiri needed loan exit yesterday
It is a real shame there were no concrete offers for Shaqiri yesterday, as a temporary exit would surely have been the best thing for him.

The 28-year-old seemingly just isn’t fancied by Jurgen Klopp, and it isn’t like he’s ever going to play ahead of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, and the club have just signed Diogo Jota.
Plus the rise to prominence of Curtis Jones, Takumi Minamino and Naby Keita also makes midfield opportunities harder to come by.
