Exciting Liverpool youngster Elliott’s potential should concern Shaqiri
Liverpool appear to have something of a gem on their hands in Harvey Elliott.
The starlet joined the club this summer from Fulham, after becoming the youngest player ever to appear in the Premier League aged just 16 and 30 days in 2018/19.
Elliott made his first-team debut for the club last week in the Carabao Cup against MK Dons and played a starring role for Jurgen Klopp’s side, hitting the bar twice and generally being a huge threat with his mazy dribbling.

Elliott stood out again for the U19s in the UEFA Youth League against Salzburg in a free role on Wednesday.
The early indications are that Elliott is a player with a massive ceiling, and that more first-team chances will be in the offing if he continues with his fearless approach.
And one man who should be looking over his shoulder at the talented youngster, is Xherdan Shaqiri.
TBR’s view
The Swiss star is out of action at the moment with a calf injury, and has been restricted to four appearances totalling just 25 minutes of actual pitch time in all competitions.

It is a period of real frustration for Shaqiri, who wants more game time at Anfield.
Being unable to play at the moment there is obviously no way for him to impress the manager, something Elliott is able to do.
Elliott’s position of right wing means £80,000-a-week star Shaqiri’s () status as backup to Mo Salah could well soon be in jeopardy.
And if young Elliott does start getting first-team chances ahead of the 27-year-old, there’s a chance he’ll seek to leave given his desire for regular football.
