‘Exceptional’ Tottenham player might not play again this year
Micky Van de Ven went down with an injury against Chelsea on Monday, and it sounds as though this could be a serious problem.
Indeed, it’s never good to see a player pulling up without any contact, and Van de Ven looked like he was in real pain on Monday.
He was spotted struggling to walk after he came off on Monday, and now, there’s been a worrying diagnosis.
Speaking on the , Sean Walsh has claimed that Van de Ven’s hamstring pull was an aggressive one, stating that he would actually be very surprised if the ‘’ Dutchman played again before the end of the year.

Van de Ven out for the year
Walsh shared an update on Van de Ven’s injury.
“They do, and I think it will become evident over the next few weeks why that is the case. Spurs have had a lot of injury luck so far this season and have been able to play pretty much their best XI every week until this point. The Van de Ven hamstring pull was quite an aggressive one. I’ll be really surprised if he’s back until 2024,” Walsh said.
Issue
This is a huge blow for Tottenham.
Make no mistake about it, Van de Ven is one of Spurs’ most important players, and his absence will be a huge factor for the north London club for the next few weeks.
Of course, the fact that Cristian Romero is also out of action really doesn’t help matters, and Spurs’ defence could well end up collapsing in the coming months without these two at the heart of things.
Let’s hope that Van de Ven is back fit and firing before too long, but it sounds like he could be missing some crucial games for Spurs.
