‘Exceptional’ Arsenal player was nowhere to be seen in training ahead of Real Madrid clash, he was suspended anyway

Arsenal take on Real Madrid in what is now their most important game of the season.

The Gunners’ hopes of winning the Premier League title are all but over despite Liverpool’s defeat to Fulham on Sunday. Their focus should fully be on the Champions League now.

Mikel Arteta is confident that his men are prepared to take on the reigning European champions, but Arsenal will be without several players.

The likes of Gabriel Magalhaes, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Takehiro Tomiyasu have all been ruled out for the remainder of the season and are not in training.

Another player was not seen on the pitch at the Sobha Realty Training Centre on Monday, but he’s suspended for the game anyway.

Raheem Sterling not spotted in training ahead of Arsenal vs Real Madrid clash

Real Madrid are often the toughest team anyone can face in the Champions League.

The Galacticos are the most successful club in the competition, and they will go into the game against the Gunners as the favourites on Tuesday.

Arsenal fans would’ve been a lot more confident if they had a fully fit side available, but multiple absentees has definitely affected their chances.

Now, claim that Raheem Sterling wasn’t spotted in Arsenal’s training session ahead of the game against Real Madrid.

Sterling, who Arteta hailed as ‘exceptional’ earlier in the season, started against Everton on Saturday, but he was withdrawn at half-time and was replaced by Gabriel Martinelli on the left flank.

The England international’s absence in training could be because he is suspended for the first-leg against Real Madrid at the Emirates.

That is because he picked up his third yellow card in the Champions League this season against PSV Eindhoven in Arsenal’s last game in the competition.

Arsenal could make a change in their attack vs Real Madrid

Arsenal’s attack has been troubled by injuries this season.

The Gunners have missed almost every single attacker they have at some point due to injuries or suspension, and that has hurt them.

Mikel Merino has been leading the line for the Gunners over the last few weeks, and the Spaniard has been doing a terrific job.

But, against Real Madrid on Tuesday, there is a chance that Arteta could deploy Leandro Trossard as his false nine to make his attack more unpredictable.

If Trossard starts, he could interchange positions with both Bukayo Saka and Martinelli on the flanks, and that flexibility could cause the Galacticos all sorts of problems.
