‘Excellent’ 50-year-old manager fancies Premier League move amid West Ham links
West Ham United are currently being linked with a host of managers as David Moyes’ Hammers future becomes ever more uncertain.
The Hammers are yet to win a match in 2024 and have lost their last three Premier League games without scoring a single goal.
As reported by , some West Ham fans held banners saying ‘Moyes out’ as they watched their team slump to a 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest last weekend.
Now, there has been a big development across the channel. Reported Hammers target Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that he will leave Bayern Munich in the summer.
“We have agreed that we will end our collaboration after this season,” the quotes him as saying.
“Until then, I and my coaching team will of course continue to do everything we can to ensure maximum success.”

This will likely have caused the likes of West Ham and other potential Premier League suitors to sit up and take notice as a high-calibre coach is set to become available.
And according to BILD’s Christian Falk, Tuchel does indeed fancy a return to the English top flight.
Admittedly, the journalist does say the 50-year-old’s dream destination would be Manchester United.
However, Erik ten Hag’s future there looks less uncertain now they’re doing well.
“Thomas Tuchel wants to return to Premier League,” Falk wrote on . “@ManUtd is the Club he always was interested in.
“After parting ways with Bayern in the summer, he is now to take on a new challenge.”
West Ham target Thomas Tuchel ‘makes world football better’
Tuchel replaced Julian Nagelsmann at the German champions in March 2023 on a two-year deal.
However, the former Chelsea boss will depart a year earlier than planned as part of “a sporting realignment” at Bayern.
Considering his time at Stamford Bridge didn’t end on the highest of notes, he may well feel he has something to prove in the Premier League.
And taking the job at West Ham, one of Chelsea’s big rivals, would give him the chance to show the Blues they made a mistake in letting him go.
Tuchel is highly regarded. For instance, Pep Guardiola is quoted by as saying in 2022: “He’s so creative. One of the few managers I learn constantly from to develop as a better manager.
“[He is] excellent in all departments. I enjoyed him since he was in Mainz. I enjoy watching his teams and the way he’s playing and the approach. He makes world football better.”
