‘Exactly what we need’, ‘it’s a possibility’: Some Rangers fans want Ibrox-linked £7m striker

A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the reports linking the Ibrox club with Kemar Roofe.

In case Alfredo Morelos leaves Rangers, claimed last week that Steven Gerrard will turn his attention to the Anderlecht attacker.

A follow-up report on claims a Gers offer to sign the former Leeds star on loan with an option to make it permanent later was rejected.

Roofe has been somewhat unlucky with injuries this term, missing the start of the season with an ankle knock and then picking up a calf strain during a mid-winter friendly against Livingston.

However, the 27-year-old has still managed seven goals and three assists in 16 appearances , while at Leeds he scored 32 goals in 122 games.

Rangers seemingly tried to lure Roofe to Ibrox last summer but were beaten by Vincent Kompany’s side, who spent £7million on him ().

It’s not been a great season for Anderlecht, who failed to even qualify for next season’s Europa League after an eighth-place finish in the top flight.

Rangers could give Roofe European football, while Roofe could give the Light Blues goals, energy, work rate and versatility up front – if Morelos leaves, he’d certainly be a decent replacement.
