Ex-Tottenham man Dimitar Berbatov loves watching Harry Kane lead the line

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Dimitar Berbatov believes Harry Kane would fit into “every big club around the world”.

The 28-year-old looks back to his best playing under the tutelage of Antonio Conte and the Italian has helped guide Spurs into the driving seat for Champions League qualification.

The England captain has 15 goals and eight assists from 29 matches under the former Inter Milan manager.

Spurs’ number 10 has registered a goal or an assist in his last seven Premier League games and the North London side looked to have timed their charge for the all-important fourth Champions League spot to perfection.

Kane has five assists from his last three matches and Berbatov has been purring about the quality Kane possesses.

A big-money move to Manchester City did not come to fruition last summer, but the Bulgarian is in no doubt that Kane is up there with the best in Europe.

In an interview with , Berbatov said: “In the case of Kane, he is probably the best in his position so far. Him and Robert Lewandowski. I love watching them — especially Kane, going deep, making the runs, and providing a finishing ball like Kevin de Bruyne. It’s unbelievable.

“I think he’s going to fit in every big club around the world, just the way he plays football, the way he controls the ball, the way he turns with the ball.

“Nothing is panicked, everything is calculated. You can smell the football is there just from watching it.

“He will have no problem going to a place and playing. I would like him to play in England for sure.”

Securing Champions League football could prove crucial in Tottenham’s quest to keep both Conte and Kane at the club.

But there is no doubt that Kane is playing some of the best football of his career under Conte and he’ll be hoping the serial winner who has won big trophies at Juventus, Chelsea and Inter can be the man to help him get his hands on an elusive trophy.
