As 2021 comes to an end, Tottenham Hotspur don’t have a lot to cheer about, but there is every reason to be optimistic about the new year.

Antonio Conte is at the helm now and if there’s one man who can change Spurs’ fortunes, it’s him. The Italian is a proven winner and if Daniel Levy gives him all the resources he needs, Tottenham’s trophy drought could end.

2022 could really be Tottenham’s year. They already have top-quality players, and they now have a manager who can bring the best out of them.

Here are our three bold predictions for Tottenham next year…

Dele Alli will become a star again

If there’s one Tottenham star who has had a fall from grace, it’s Alli. The Englishman was once one of the best players in the Premier League, but he is now deemed by many as surplus to requirement.

However, Alli showed signs of his previous self in the game against Liverpool a few days ago. There’s still a player in him and it’s up to Conte to bring the best out of him. We believe the Italian is more than capable of that and 2022 could well be the 25-year-old’s year.

Christian Eriksen will return to Tottenham

One of the saddest moments of 2021 was when Eriksen collapsed on the pitch while playing for Denmark at the Euros. The Dane has been away from professional football since and his contract at Inter Milan has been terminated.

Eriksen is a free agent now and his agent revealed that ‘he is feeling good’ and that ‘all physical results are positive’ (). A number of clubs in Europe would be lucky to have a player of Eriksen’s quality in their squad if he’s ready to play again. Tottenham are one of those sides and it would be a no-brainer to bring him back at some point next month.

Spurs will win the FA Cup

One of the biggest reasons why Tottenham turned to Conte was to end their trophy drought. The Italian has proven that he can win the big trophies, but the Premier League is out of Spurs’ reach at the moment.

However, the FA Cup is a very real possibility this season. Conte knows what it’s like to win the oldest cup competition in the world having led his Chelsea side to the trophy in 2018. There’s no reason why he can’t lead Tottenham to glory at the end of this season.
