Ex-Liverpool duo deliver instant reaction as Steven Gerrard wins Hall of Fame place
Peter Crouch and Robbie Fowler have reacted on Twitter to the news that Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has been inducted into the newly formed Premier League Hall of Fame.
But for a year with LA Galaxy at the end of his career, Gerrard was a one-club man. He made no fewer than 710 appearances for the Reds, scoring 186 goals and helping the team to Champions League glory.

The midfield maestro was a real hit with the supporters and the only blemish on his time at Anfield was that he couldn’t get the team over the line in their pursuit of a Premier League title.
That aspect of his career has seen many supporters of other clubs dismiss his inclusion in the Hall of Fame – although his former teammates, Crouch and Fowler, don’t appear to agree.
People who are saying
‘but Steven Gerrard never won the league’I believe this is about the best players of all time in the league.

Gerrard thoroughly deserves his accolade and anyone suggesting he doesn’t clearly has some sort of anti-Liverpool bias. Given the number of games he played and how much quality he possessed his inclusion was always going to happen.
Now the manager of Rangers, the former England star has managed to get his hands on an elusive league title. The Gers won the Scottish Premiership at a canter during 2020/21, ending nine years of Celtic dominance.

Crouch and Fowler leaping to his defence in the face of criticism showcases just how much respect he had from his fellow professionals.
Both players featured alongside the former Reds captain several times throughout their careers and clearly saw what an unbelievable player he was.
The Hall of Fame concept looks like a decent idea and it remains to be seen if any other Liverpool players receive recognition in the coming weeks.
