‘Everything I ask for in a player’: Some West Ham fans hail 28-year-old’s display v Man City
A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to praise Vladimir Coufal for his performance in Saturday’s Premier League clash with Manchester City.
The Hammers had the unenviable task of going to the Etihad to face a team that had won their prior 19 games in all competitions.
David Moyes’ charges gave a great account of themselves against the runaway league leaders, who had to work hard for their narrow 2-1 victory.

West Ham conceded the opener in the 30th minute as Kevin De Bruyne teed up Ruben Dias, who headed home City’s first attempt of the game.
However, the visitors restored parity just before half time, Michail Antonio converting from close range.
It was the first goal City had conceded in the Premier League at home since December 15, a shutout lasting 587 minutes.
In the end, the hosts got over the line as Riyad Mahrez cut back to John Stones for a far-corner finish midway through the second half.
Coufal put in a superb display, keeping City’s left hand side in check throughout the game, keeping Ferran Torres quiet, and surged forward to play a key part in his side’s goal.
Needless to say, plenty of Hammers fans on social media sang the 28-year-old’s praises during and after the match:
You will never see a better signing than Coufal for £5m

I’m not joking when I say this, but Coufal is the best RB in the league
5 million bargain.

Everybody talks about Soucek (and rightly, he is immense) but you couldn’t put a price on what Coufal is worth to us, the amount of games we lost purely from teams targeting our weak right back area, this geezer has stopped that and turned it into an outlet too

Coufal superb, Fornals excellent, Dawson an absolute rock once again, all the boys worked their socks off, good job we’ve 9 days to recover before Leeds, really need Fabianski back though

Fornals and Coufal have been out of this world. Get anything from this and it’s a complete game changer.

Coufal is everything I ask for in a player. Gives everything in every performance and most importantly actually cares about the result. We’ve been lacking that grit and winning mentality for years, so proud of my team and my right back ⚒
