‘Everyone’s had enough’: Pundit slates high-profile Tottenham man after disappointing spell

Gareth Bale may be one of the most high-profile players in the Premier League, but for much of this season he’s failed to live up to his considerable reputation.

A hero from his first spell at the club, he returned to London on loan from Real Madrid in September, but struggled initially with fitness issues.

Since then, he has had some impressive spells but his form in general has been inconsistent during his second stint.

Former Tottenham man Jamie O’Hara believes the moment has gone for the Welshman, and that the novelty has worn off not just for the fans, but for his manager Jose Mourinho.

The 31-year-old was an unused substitute in the 2-0 win over Aston Villa, and came off the bench late on in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle.

Speaking on , O’Hara said: “I think everyone’s had enough of the Gareth Bale saga. I think everyone’s had enough of it.

“Just the fans, the players, the media, the fans, everyone’s just had enough of it.

“You know, he came in, it was this big sort of everyone standing outside the ground, he was like the messiah coming back.

“Wasn’t fit for three months. Gets fit, has a few decent games, starts playing well then disappears in the two biggest games of the season against Arsenal, the London derby, and then Zagreb, was two shocking performances, and then he comes out and says he just wanted to be fit for the Euros, that’s why he came to Spurs, he wants to go back to Madrid.

“Everyone’s just tired of it, everyone’s tired. And you can see Mourinho’s tired.

“He didn’t bother playing him against Aston Villa, brings him on for five minutes against Newcastle,

“That whole situation just needs to end.”

Since returning to the club, Bale has scored 10 goals in 25 appearances.
