Everton’s task of beating Chelsea just got a whole lot harder
Everton take on Chelsea at the weekend, and it remains to be seen if it’s Marco Silva who’ll be leading the Toffees into battle at Goodison Park.
The Merseyside outfit were beaten 5-2 on Wednesday by bitter rivals Liverpool to seemingly leave the Portuguese hanging by a thread.
It was a third consecutive defeat for Everton, who have now slipped into the relegation zone as a result of Southampton beating Norwich City.

It’s been an alarming start to the season, and things aren’t about to get any easier as they head into the busy festive period.
Up next is Chelsea, who returned to winning ways on Wednesday by beating Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.
Frank Lampard’s team have enjoyed a bright start to 2019/20, and the Blues legend deserves additional credit for contending with several injuries early doors.
Happily for Lampard, he’ll be able to welcome back a key player against struggling Everton.
TBR’s view – Rudiger the rock just who Everton don’t need
, Antonio Rudiger is fully fit again after recovering from a groin injury.

The German defender has played just 45 minutes under Lampard, but is likely to add to that this weekend – which is bad news for Everton.
£33.4 million signing Rudiger () is Chelsea’s best defender and is very likely going to make the Toffees’ job of scoring goals all the more difficult.
Given Chelsea’s lack of clean sheets in recent weeks, one would imagine he’ll go straight into the starting XI if he’s completely fit.
They may have notched two against Liverpool at Anfield, but that’s taken their tally to just 16 scored in 15 games.
