Everton’s links with super-agent must help in pursuit of £29.9m Brazilian talent

that Everton will make a formal approach of €35 million (£29.9m) for the Gremio and Brazil attacker Everton Soares this week.

It would represent a major coup if Everton could get this deal over the line, especially considering the high calibre of clubs that have previously been linked with bringing the 14-cap star to European football.

So could the reported transfer broker behind the deal be key to Everton’s potential success?

The club are reportedly in negotiations with infamous transfer broker Kia Joorabchian, who is helping to facilitate Everton Soares’ move to Europe with agent Marcio Cruz.

The name is, of course, infamous with English football fans due to the Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano affair.

But for Everton, Joorabchian’s involvement could prove a big help.

Everton’s main shareholder Farhad Moshiri and his relationship with the agent could be key. The two Iranians are known to each other and the agent has been seen attending games at Goodison Park in recent times, sitting with Everton supremo Moshiri.

Joorabchian is also the agent of Richarlison. The Everton forward has reportedly agreed terms on a new contract at Everton this week, as after discussions between director of football Marcel Brands and Joorabchian.

this week that Moshiri was being ‘serenaded’ by Joorabchian regarding potential alternatives to Marco Silva as Everton manager. Jorge Jesus, another client of the Iranian’s, has since emerged as a potential managerial target.

So it clearly seems as though there is a strong working relationship between Everton Soares’ transfer broker and the Everton board. If it helps the club bring in one of Brazilian football’s top talents, fans will not be asking too many questions.
