Everton’s links with Leonardo Koutris make little sense considering Lucas Digne’s form
According to reports last weekend, Everton are in the hunt to sign Leonardo Koutris. that Everton have joined Newcastle United in keeping tabs on Koutris.
Both sides could make summer moves for the 23-year-old, who currently plays in the Greek league with Olympiacos.
Born in Brazil, Koutris has played in Greece for his whole senior career and even plays for the national side. Everton watched him in action during the international break for the Greek national team.
Koutris is a promising talent and could carve out a successful career in the Premier League. But Everton simply do not need him right now.
Last summer, the Toffees signed Lucas Digne from Barcelona and he has been a revelation as an attack-minded left-back.

The 25-year-old has allowed Everton to slowly faze out veteran left-back Leighton Baines and bring in a fresh approach on the wing.
With three goals and four assists in the league from left-back, the France international is one of the front-runners for Everton’s Player of the Season accolade.
Koutris could be a good squad player for Everton but he would face a real challenge trying to replace Digne in the starting line-up.
He would surely prefer a move to Newcastle, where he would have more chance of first-team action rather than a back-up role at Everton.
