Everton’s £40m transfer target has already made quite an impact at Goodison Park

Everton are reportedly interested in the signature of Bertrand Traore this summer. As reported the Lyon attacker is on the club’s shortlist for the summer. The French side are seeking a fee in the region of £40 million for the Burkina Faso international.

Traore would undoubtedly love to have a big impact at Goodison Park. In fact, he already has.

Traore played in an infamous Europa League clash between Everton and Lyon in 2017-18. Ashley Williams, by this point at the height of his poor performances for the Toffees, started a mass brawl after a needless foul on Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes.

The brawl spilled over into the crowd. Once the dust had settled, Traore was one of the players booked for the incident. The striker was quick to stand up to Williams, who also scored Everton’s equaliser in an eventful game. Traore even got involved in some handbags with current Everton player Tom Davies.

The melee made the news for the involvement of an Everton fan and Williams was heavily criticised for his role in the incident. Traore, however, went on to have the last laugh. The Burkinabe frontman scored an exquisite front-post flick to give Lyon a 2-1 win that continued Everton’s awful Europa League campaign under Ronald Koeman.

Traore has already experienced quite a lot at Goodison Park in his career.

Just a few weeks later he scored against Everton again as Lyon won 3-0 in the return fixture. So Everton fans are fully aware of the quality Traore possesses.

Hopefully, he will be scoring goals for Everton next season.
