Yannick Bolasie highlights why Everton boss was wrong to sanction Anderlecht move
Yannick Bolasie looked set to take the Premier League by storm when he signed for Everton from Crystal Palace back in 2016.
A serious knee injury and managerial changes have now seen him fall way down the pecking order at Goodison Park.
The 29-year-old did okay during a loan spell with Aston Villa for the first half of the campaign, contributing two goals in 29 appearances.
He returned to Goodison at the end of the loan spell in search of Premier League football, either at Everton or at another club on loan.
He got neither.
Instead, Bolasie was sent on loan to Belgian giants Anderlecht for the remainder of the campaign.
In four games with his new club, he is already showing Marco Silva exactly what he is capable of.
Silva is under pressure at Everton to start getting results.
The Toffees have lost their last three games and have also suffered an embarrassing cup exit at the hands of Millwall this season.
Bolasie fired a superb brace in a 2-2 draw with Club Brugge yesterday to highlight his quality and Silva’s stupidity.
The Congo international now has three goals in his first three starts and Everton could have done with his ability for the second half of the campaign.
Bolasie has pace to burn and he has proven in the past that he is a more than capable player when it comes to the Premier League.
With the Toffees toiling at the moment the fearless nature of Bolasie and his ability to drive past defenders could have been the catalyst for a transformation in fortunes for the club.
