Everton will look at Ben Brereton Diaz again in January – journalist
Football journalist Pete O’Rourke believes Everton will consider signing Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton Diaz again in the January transfer window after missing out in the summer.
The 23-year-old Chilean was linked with a move to numerous Premier League clubs last month. The likes of West Ham and Leeds United were said to be keen, but reports revealed that Everton were the ones who came closest to getting him.
However, a deal did not materialise.

Everton will look at Ben Brereton Diaz again in January
Frank Lampard was desperate for a new attacker in the summer, and after links to multiple big names over the course of the window, they ended up with Neal Maupay in the final week.
The Frenchman is not a bad player at all, but he’s definitely not the one Lampard would’ve had in his mind at the start of the window. That could convince the Everton boss to dive into the market in January, and O’Rourke believes Diaz will be an option again.
He told : “Brereton Diaz, I’m sure, will be somebody that they (Everton) will look at again in January, knowing that his price tag will be reduced due to his contract situation as well.
“So I think Everton, if they are in the market for attacking reinforcements, Brereton Diaz will probably be pretty high up the list.”
Diaz, branded as an ‘extraordinary’ player, scored 22 goals in the Championship last season.

TBR View:
Everton have plenty of options in attack at the moment.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Neal Maupay, Solomon Rondon, Anthony Gordon, Dwight McNeil, Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend are all at Lampard’s disposal, but Diaz would still be a great option.
The 23-year-old South American was absolutely sensational for Blackburn last season. He has four goals to his name this campaign as well, and he definitely does have the potential to become a top player.
Diaz will have just six months left on his contract in January. The winter window will be Blackburn’s last chance to sell him for a decent fee, which should favour interested clubs like Everton.
However, whether the Toffees will make a move for him in January or just wait till the summer when he’ll be a free agent remains to be seen.
