Everton supporters react to on-loan Vlasic’s comments about Goodison career

Ronald Koeman’s summer of investment at Everton ahead of the 2017/18 season was a washout which led to his premature sacking and left the Toffees with an unbalanced, expensive squad.

Marco Silva is still dealing with the fallout of that, which was exacerbated by Sam Allardyce’s intensely pragmatic style, which alienated some players and brought expensive January flops in the shape of Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun.

Another player who struggled for gametime was Nikola Vlasic, who showed flashes of promise under Koeman but was marginalised by Allardyce and is now out on loan at CSKA Moscow.

: “There were a lot of changes at Everton and I didn’t find my place there. It’s always hard there because if you don’t take your chance first time, then it’s hard to get another.

“Here, I have a chance every time. Even if I play badly in one game, I know I will have another chance. This is the main thing for a player to play in a good way.”

In the wake of his comments, some Everton fans expressed that they want Vlasic – who earns £25,000 a week to return to Goodison next season for another crack of the whip…
