Everton should target Wilfried Zaha in statement of intent
Everton have since the arrival of manager Marco Silva, and it may be time they target a big name like Wilfried Zaha as a statement of intent.
Since Silva’s arrival, the Blues have increased the amount of shots they are taking per game by almost 50%, as well as conceding on average four shots fewer per match this season.
This improvement is largely down to Marco Silva’s philosophy and signings.

Bernard – who moved to Merseyside on a free transfer – currently averages 2.9 chances created from open play per game; second only to Manchester City magician David Silva.
Fellow summer signing Lucas Digne has created the most chances from defence in the Premier League so far, with 22.
Wide man Richarlison has bagged six goals already for his new side, and tops the scoring chart alongside Gylfi Sigurdsso.
For all the impressive stats detailing how many chances Everton are creating, there isn’t a flying goalscorer in the side. Richarlison has adopted a central role in recent weeks following the poor form of Cenk Tosun, who has scored only twice.
If the Blues can add a 20+ goal a season striker to their team, they will be a force to be reckoned with.
The that Everton have already had a move for Zaha rebuffed, as the forward did not fancy a move north again following his failed stint with Manchester United.
Everton could make a huge statement of their ambition by going back in for Zaha with the promise of guaranteed football and making him the focal point of a team which looks like it could push for a European spot with the right acquisitions.
