Everton should show Yannick Bolasie exit doors despite revival out on loan

Everton splashed out £25million ) for Yannick Bolasie back in 2016 to bring him to Goodison Park from Crystal Palace.

But the attacker has been a flop, with just two goals and four assists in 32 games for the Toffees.

The 29-year-old spent the first half of this season on loan with Aston Villa in the Championship, where he struggled to set the world alight in England’s second-tier.

He joined Belgian club Anderlecht in January on loan for the remainder of the campaign and has enjoyed a revival.

Bolasie has played seven times so far for Anderlecht, scoring four goals and supplying one assist in return.

The Congo international is a skilful winger that can play on either flank and he’s rediscovered his goalscoring touch in Belgium.

Everton could do with some fresh faces in wide areas going into next season, but manager Marco Silva should not plan to bring Bolasie back into the fold after his success out on loan.

He still looks a shadow of the player he was at Crystal Palace and it’s unlikely he could strengthen the starting XI at the Merseyside club.

After showing some signs of life with Anderlecht, Everton should try cash in on Bolasie in the summer and try to make as much of the £25million back that they can but it would be no surprise if they take a significant loss.
