Everton should rekindle Olivier Ntcham interest, Doucoure is too expensive- TBR View

Everton are once again actively scouring the transfer market, as Carlo Ancelotti looks to bring in a number of new players to help his team climb the table next season.

A number of names have been mentioned as being admired by the Toffees. The biggest links coming from Napoli, where Allan is a long-term target for Ancelotti and Watford, where Abdoulaye Doucoure is attracting plenty of from Everton.

However, another name mentioned in recent weeks is the Celtic midfielder, Olivier Ntcham. Indeed, the Frenchman is said to be of interest to a number of Premier League clubs, including the Toffees. ()

Furthermore, reports that Ntcham is now actively seeking a move away from Parkhead, with suggestions he has asked for the Bhoys to provide clubs with their valuation for him.

Surely, then, things add up nicely for Everton with this one and they should be going out of their way to sign Ntcham?

Doucoure is proven but £30m is a lot of money once again

While the signing of Doucoure would give Ancelotti a proven midfielder who can get goals and provide the battling qualities needed in the middle of the park, Watford are .

Given the Toffees have spent a fortune in recent seasons on players – some of which who have not performed – the Everton board may be sceptical over splashing out once again.

Ntcham, then, could come at a cheaper price, with Celtic unlikely to ask for such a fee. In addition, the Frenchman is younger than Doucoure and will have the added incentive of wanting to prove himself in the Premier League.

So, while Doucoure looks an attractive proposition on paper, the signing of Ntcham could well prove better value for money in the long-term.
