Everton should regret missing out on ex-target Raul Jimenez

Everton could clearly do with signing a new centre-forward to bolster their options and to an extent they still haven’t got over the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United in 2017.

The Toffees did frantically try to find the right replacement in the summer transfer window of 2017, which included eyeing Benfica centre-forward Raul Jimenez.

Ronald Koeman, who was manager at the time, was interested in a deadline-day swoop for Jimenez (A Bola) before eventually nothing came of it.

Jimenez is currently on a season-long loan from Benfica in the Premier League at Wolverhampton Wanderers and he’s showing Everton why they should be angered they never signed their 2017 summer target ().

The 27-year-old has adapted very quickly to English football and the Mexico international can play the lone strike extremely well.

He’s made 24 appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring seven goals and supplying six assists in return.

Jimenez is proving to be a brilliant target man that can link up play well at Molineux and also be a strong finisher in front of goal too.

He fits the exact type of profile that current Everton boss Marco Silva should be hunting the market for, as they are perhaps a prolific goalscorer away from getting back into European football.
