Everton should plot move for Huddersfield midfielder Philip Billing

Everton could still be a little short in midfield ahead of the new season, especially if they lose Idrissa Gueye.

Gueye, 29, wants to join Paris Saint-Germain () and the French club come in with a bid for him after failing in January.

The Toffees do have Andre Gomes and summer addition Fabian Delph as options, while Tom Davies and Morgan Schneiderlin could provide cover.

But the Merseyside club need to be aiming for the European spots in the new campaign and will need a strong squad to achieve it.

They should consider joining the reported race for Huddersfield Town’s Philip Billing, who is a risk worth taking for Everton.

, Huddersfield want £17million for Billing this summer after he’s been exiled from the first-team following comments about manager Jan Siewert.

The report details that Bournemouth are interest in him, but may bid lower than the asking price given he’s entering the final year of his contract.

Billing’s cricisim of his manager don’t reflect well on him, but a fresh move seems best for all parties involved and he’s definitely a top-flight player.

The 23-year-old Dane was unable to keep Huddersfield from suffering relegation last season from the Premier League, but has shown his quality in the top-flight.

He’s a no-nonsense central midfielder that is extremely strong and is so difficult to knock off the ball.

Billing is still a young player that could grow under the tutelage of someone like Silva and add some extra steel to Everton’s midfield, something they will need of Gueye exits.

His £17million valuation seems a little steep, but he could be a solid addition to a Premier League team and Everton should have him on their radar.
