Everton should consider revisiting interest in Middlesbrough talent Marcus Tavernier

🌳This time last year Middlesbrough youngster Marcus Tavernier was being linked with a host of big names. The talented England youth international had just broken into Garry Monk’s side and had bagged a winning goal against rivals Sunderland.

One of the teams said to be keen were Everton. ꧒the Toffees were hopeful of continuing a recent tradition of signing talent from the Football League, following success with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Ademola Lookman and John Stones.

ꦺHowever, Tavernier soon found himself out of the Boro first-team picture. Monk was replaced by Tony Pulis and he decided he needed time away from the first-team. In the end, he headed out to MK Dons on loan where he did not impress.

❀However, in the summer, he was excellent for England’s under-19s and has recently shown the sort of form which should have Everton considering revisiting their interest. He scored the equaliser in a recent 1-1 draw with Preston North End. It was his second goal in as many games for the club and it looks like he is now in Pulis’ plans going forward.

🀅Everton should no doubt be keeping tabs on this teenage talent once again.
