Everton should consider Gbamin swoop following Zouma struggles
Everton are looking increasingly unlikely to re-sign Kurt Zouma this summer.
The Frenchman is back at Chelsea following his Goodison Park loan in 2018/19 and is working to impress new manager Frank Lampard.
, the defender expects to stay at Stamford Bridge for 2019/20, which could come as a huge blow for the Toffees.

Marco Silva considers him a priority, but Lampard has said: “I want him here, simple as that. I want him to be happy. If he competes and plays well this season, he plays.”
Zouma himself added: “I enjoyed my time at Everton but I’m a Chelsea player and we’ll see what will happens in the future. I think it will be here at Chelsea.”
A move is seemingly looking more and more unlikely, and with only a few weeks remaining until the transfer window closes, Everton should start to look at alternatives.
TBR’s view
Perhaps the club should be thinking about moving for highly rated Bundesliga star Jean-Philippe Gbamin.
The Mainz defender’s stock has risen righ after a great 2018/19 in which he appeared 33 times.

The Ivory Coast international isn’t aerially dominant like Zouma, but is great with the ball at his feet and can lend a hand in midfield too.
He has previously interested Liverpool, Arsenal and is reportedly now being looked at by Wolverhampton Wanderers and AS Monaco ().
The coveted ace could bring style and steel to the Everton starting XI, and would cost between €30-40 million/£27-36 million to sign.
