Everton should consider cutting their losses with Yerry Mina
This summer, Everton fought hard to sign Yerry Mina from Barcelona. The Colombian joined the Merseyside club in a deal to be in the region of £27.2 million.
It came after he impressed at the World Cup with Colombia but was clearly not in the plans at former club Barcelona.
So far, it has not really worked out for the player.
Mina’s start to the season was marred by a foot injury. He did not make his debut until November and went on to impress early on. However, a poor display against Manchester City in December saw him slip out of contention.
He then slipped on the wet ground against Millwall in the disappointing FA Cup defeat, suffering another similar foot injury he was plagued with at the start of the season.

Everton were probably expecting a lot more from the player but it looks as though they have spent a lot of money for a defender no better or less injury-prone than Ramiro Funes Mori.
Everton will surely be considering cutting their losses. They could chalk up one bad season to cultural differences and injury. With the World Cup still fresh in the memory, recovering the previous fee should not be difficult. If Everton can get another club, perhaps in Spain, to pay the same amount then selling Mina needs to be a serious consideration.
His foot problem, his lack of consistency and in general looking out of place in the Premier League style suggest he could become an expensive flop unless Everton sell now while his stock remains relatively high.
