Everton set for more new investors alongside Dan Friedkin in £499m takeover twist
Everton are set to welcome a new wave of minority shareholders while Dan Friedkin works on finalising his full takeover of the club.
Friedkin is currently engaged in exclusive talks with current owner Farhad Moshiri, and the Premier League are expected to ratify the deal once the finer points are ironed out.
British-Iranian businessman Moshiri currently owns 94.1 per cent of Everton having first invested back in 2016.

The remaining equity is owned by are owned by over 2,000 individual shareholders, with the late Bill Kenwright’s estate accounting for around three quarters of the total non-Moshiri shares.
Shares are rarely traded.
Everton shares to go on sale from 18 July
The private equity group is set to launch an auction of Everton shares from 18 July, per an update to the company’s website.
It will be the first public auction since 12 October 2023, when 42 shares were traded at £3,700 per share.
Given that there is a total of 135,000 shares in the club, that would value Everton at £499.5m.
While shares have previously paid a small dividend and granted holders the right to attend the club’s AGM, those privileges have not been extended for some time.
Groups like the Everton Shareholders Association, however, do have a degree of influence, although this is soft power as opposed to any material control over the day-to-day business of the club.

When will Friedkin complete his Everton takeover?
No specific timeline has been outlined as to when Friedkin might be able to take full formal control of Everton.
However, the consensus is that it could be in the next one or two months.

Compared to the eight months Everton were in limbo with Miami-based group 777 Partners, that will go by a heartbeat for supporters, especially given that Friedkin is a more credible option than 777.
Given that Everton have already set their budget for the summer transfer window and, in any case, are operating in a restrictive PSR environment, the timing of Friedkin’s arrival is not hugely consequential.
