Everton round-up: Brands key to Lozano, Dowell frustrations and McCarthy comeback
Lozano chances
how Everton could get their hands on PSV star Hirving Lozano.
They suggest that his former director at PSV, Marcel Brands, is the only reason Everton even have a shot of signing the player.
He has not yet made the call, according to PSV general manager Toon Gerbrands, and Lozano would reportedly prefer a move to Spain.
However, the report suggests Brands could possibly tempt him into a Merseyside move.

Dowell frustration
Everton youngster with his lack of game time at Goodison Park. The England youngster spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, where he was a regular, so spending most of his time on the sidelines this season has taken some adapting.
He scored against Gor Mahia in a friendly at Goodison last night and admitted it was nice scoring at the ground.
McCarthy back
The clash with Kenyan side was a resounding success with the 4-0 scoreline something of a subplot to the actual occasion. Goals from Ademola Lookman, Kieran Dowell, Nathan Broadhead and Oumar Niasse gave Everton the win.
However, the more important matters were a home start for summer signing Yerry Mina and a comeback appearance for James McCarthy – much to the Everton faithful’s collective pleasure.
