Everton reportedly willing to let player leave, Celtic have to move

Jonjoe Kenny has been made to wait on the Everton sidelines for the majority of the season and is now reportedly set to be sent on loan to finally further his development and get more first-team football under his belt.

the England Under-21 international will be allowed to leave on loan, as Seamus Coleman continues to be considered first choice by Marco Silva.

Kenny, 22, has been left to make do with just 12 first-team Premier League appearances this season. Everton could also be in the market for a new right-sided defender this summer, further limiting his game time.

So, where could he go? It might not be as simple as a move to the Championship or a lesser Premier League club, but a trip north of the border to Scottish champions Celtic where they are crying out for a right-back.

Mikael Lustig’s reign at Celtic which has lasted since January 2012 is set to end. The Sweden international has been involved in all eight of Celtic’s consecutive league wins, but he is out of contract and expected to leave.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Toljan has been poor since joining the club on loan from Borussia Dortmund and the permanent clause is unlikely to be activated. Anthony Ralston does not seem up to it.

With Kenny seemingly available on loan, Celtic landing the defender – who has 30 Premier League appearances to his name – on loan until the end of next season would be an excellent bit of business.
