Everton release Josh King, amid links to both Celtic and West Ham recently

You can see why King was keen to get back to the Premier League but he’s not done himself many favours at Everton in all honesty. He couldn’t dislodge Calvert-Lewin, and when he did play, he didn’t light things up.

Unfortunately, he might have to drop back into the Championship. A good season with a team down there might reignite his goals touch.

There are some big clubs in the second tier for him to look at. Other than that, King could be relying on a newly promoted side to take a punt.
