Everton now in talks to sign Brazil international for David Moyes who left Liverpool in 2023
Things are looking up for Everton and David Moyes after Sundayβs win over Tottenham β although the central midfield department is still quite weak.
The Toffees lack options behind Orel Mangala and Idrissa Gueye β and while Harrison Armstrong has impressed in the opportunities afforded to him due to a lack of midfield depth, Everton could do with signing a reinforcement as relegation from the Premier League is still very possible this season.

Should Everton fail to sign a new midfielder, and Mangala, Gueye or Armstrong suffered a serious injury, the second half of the campaign could be very difficult.
Now β however β the Toffees are looking to address the situation after making contact with Juventus to sign Arthur Melo.
Everton make approach to sign Arthur Melo
A story from in Italy now states that Everton have enquired about the Brazil international.
Arthur β who left Liverpool in 2023 after his loan from Juventus ended β has not played for the Italian giants under Thiago Motta this season as the Old Lady look to offload him.

Tutto Juve state that Everton are in talks with the South Americanβs representatives about a move to Goodison Park β although Real Betis are also interested in the Brazilian.
However, the Italian news outlet stress that negotiations with Real Betis are stalling β so Everton have a chance to beat the Spanish side to Arthurβs signature.
Everton have wanted Arthur Melo for many months
This would not seem to be a panic buy from Everton if a deal materialises.
Everton wanted Arthur back in June β according to Tuttosport β while Sean Dyche was still at the helm, with Juventus valuing the midfielder at Β£17.1m during that summer.
Therefore, you would assume those on the recruitment team at Goodison Park have done their homework on the 28-year-old, and believe he can be a useful asset under Moyes.
Furthermore, Arthur himself shouldnβt β presumably β have any problems settling in on Merseyside, having spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan down the road at Liverpool.
