Everton must ignore doubts if there’s a chance to sign Donny van de Beek
Everton have been linked with a move for one of Ajax’s Champions League heroes. Donny van de Beek has caught the eye of the scouting department at Goodison Park.
The 22-year-old is perhaps the under-the-radar talent at Ajax compared to Matthijs de Ligt, Frenkie de Jong and David Neres – but is one of the more consistent performers in the Ajax fold.
Other big clubs in Europe are circling so Everton will need to be quick with any interest in the player.
However, Everton have been stung before when it comes to signing talented players from Ajax.

Davy Klaassen arrived in 2017 in a deal worth £23.6 million It came after he had guided Ajax to the Europa League final against Manchester United and his talents were wanted across the continent. Everton won the race but fans soon wondered why there was such a clamour.
He lacked the pace and strength for Premier League football and Everton soon dropped him from the starting XI. At the end of the season he was surplus to requirements and joined Werder Bremen at a big financial loss,

It would be understandable for Everton fans to be concerned over the current Ajax star considering the Klaassen fall-out.
However, van de Beek already looks like a player far beyond the talents of Klaassen. His performances against Real Madrid and Juventus in the Champions League this season have been dynamic and eye-catching.
If Everton have a chance to sign this young talent, they should not flinch for a second.
