Everton make bid to sign striker with £51m release clause and his club are happy with the offer
Everton could still lose Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer, so Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell are keeping their eyes peeled for a new striker.
TBR Football understands that Everton are ready to sell Calvert-Lewin as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.
Interestingly, Manchester United are one side who are considering a move for Calvert-Lewin as Erik ten Hag aims to improve his attack.
As this saga rumbles on, Everton have now made a bid to sign a new striker, who could potentially replace the England international at Goodison Park…
Everton bid for Alisson Santana
A story from in Brazil now states that Everton have made a bid to sign Alisson Santana from Atletico Mineiro.
The Brazilian news outlet do not mention the value of Everton’s offer, but interestingly, it is said that Atletico Mineiro are pleased by the bid, and the deal could even be finalised in the next days.
Santana has a contract with Atletico Mineiro running until January 2027 – which contains a €60m (£51m) release clause.

It is not made clear whether Everton have actually triggered this clause, but whatever amount the Toffees put on the table, it sounds satisfactory for the Brazilian giants.
Santana – who is just 18 years of age – has made 29 appearances for Atletico Mineiro, scoring two goals while also providing one assists.
Sean Dyche needs experience
Everton have already taken a gamble on one promising striker talent in Youssef Chermiti – who arrived in a £15m deal from Sporting CP back in August 2023 – but the Portuguese prospect is yet to score in 20 appearances for the Toffees.

With one of Dyche’s few senior options in Beto also struggling, scoring only five goals in 38 appearances for Everton, and amid doubts over the future of Calvert-Lewin, we feel that signing another unproven teenager in Santana is probably not the smartest idea right now, despite his promise.
Everton need someone in a position to make an immediate impact at Goodison Park, or else the 2024/25 campaign could be another difficult one for the Toffees.
