Unless he finds consistency at Sheffield United Kieran Dowell won’t receive Everton opportunity
Sheffield United saw their automatic promotion hopes hit a bump in the road last night as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Sheffield Wednesday.
The Blades had the games best chance and perhaps should have been awarded a penalty.
It wasn’t to be though and Chris Wilder’s men stay third in the Championship.

Everton loanee Kieran Dowell started his fifth game since arriving at the South Yorkshire-based club last night.
The 21-year-old sadly highlighted why the Toffees have been reluctant to let him loose on the first team just yet.
Against West Brom last time out, Dowell’s header proved to be decisive. His goal won the day for the Blades and his performance was excellent.
After being expected to kick on from that performance, he was rather underwhelming in the derby and failed to impose himself on the game.
Consistency is proving a real problem for the attacking midfielder.
Last season at Nottingham Forest, Dowell looked the real deal for the first half of the campaign but then toiled towards the back end.
During the last 10 games of his City Ground spell, he failed to score or contribute an assist to the cause.

There is evidence to suggest that Dowell can play but given his age, it’s time he started to deliver more frequently.
His eight games for Wilder’s team have reaped just one goal and a solitary assist. Quite simply, that won’t be good enough to earn him a proper chance at Goodison Park.
