Everton just got taste of lucrative potential in deal for Moise Kean
Everton got a taste at the weekend of the potential in their Moise Kean deal. The striker is currently on loan at Paris Saint-Germain.
Everton’s deal to sign Moise Kean has raised eyebrows since day one. The Toffees to sign him from Juventus in August 2019 – a lot of money for a 19-year-old.
But then, Kean was no ordinary 19-year-old. He already had 12 Serie A goals by the time he moved to Everton, as well as two goals for Italy’s National Team. His six goals in 13 games meant he’d fully earned his title medal in 2019, too.

So this was a player of great potential who had already accomplished plenty as a teenager. But his move to Everton didn’t really work out. Kean scored just twice in 33 games last season.
Few would have predicted a loan to Paris Saint-Germain, then. Let alone one . But that’s where Kean is this season and the weekend saw him bag his first two goals in France.
And with that, Everton got a taste of just how lucrative this deal could be with Kean.
Profitable
Kean is still just 20 but now has two games and two goals in Ligue 1. If he keeps that up, he could easily end up in double digits by the end of the season. Then look at what Everton have on their books.
The Toffees would have a 21-year-old striker who has scored goals in three major leagues and is under contract for three more years. And if he does have a few more successful games with PSG, he’d be a proven goalscorer in a top league, with a top team.
That would leave Everton with a choice. They could either keep Kean for themselves and use both him and Dominic Calvert-Lewin next season. Or they could look to sell such a player – who would surely secure a huge fee with all of that under his belt.
Just look at Victor Osimhen, for instance. The Nigerian scored 13 in Ligue 1 last season for Lille and it earned him a move to Napoli . And that was at Lille – perform at PSG and you get even brighter limelight.
